I’ve been battling with confidence issues because of the scars left behind by years of acne. Makeup helps cover them up, but I’d really love to improve the texture of my skin so I don’t feel like I have to hide behind foundation all the time. Recently, a friend suggested I look into microneedling for acne scars, but I don’t know much about the process.

What I’d like to understand is how many sessions are typically needed before you notice real results. Is it something you need to commit to for months, or can you see a visible difference after just one or two treatments? I’ve seen before-and-after pictures online that look impressive, but I don’t know if they’re realistic or exaggerated marketing.

Another worry is whether microneedling works equally well for older scars. Mine are over ten years old, so I wonder if they’re “too deep” to benefit from collagen stimulation. Also, how long do the results last? Is it permanent improvement, or do the scars start to reappear once the collagen production slows again?
